Desert Rock is a fellowship of disciples of Jesus that desire to live out authentic Christianity within the
present culture through the reinstitution of foundational spiritual principles that are now being
restored by the Holy Spirit to the church. Through the rediscovery of ancient tools such as:
wholehearted worship; faithfulness to God as manifested by a lifestyle of prayer; fasting; extravagant
obedience; righteous living and sacrificial giving, we seek to be a people increasingly affected by His
presence and love. We understand that the working of these truths and others into our lives is
completely a work of His grace and yet our willing response to embrace them is an offering that brings
Him pleasure and brings His life changing presence all the more evident in our midst. We find this to
be a costly, but very rewarding process that takes us away from the intoxicating religion of
self-gratification and the idolatry of self-focus into the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, His
love, His life, His presence and His purpose for us in this present age.
We see Jesus as having all authority in heaven and on earth (Mt 28:18). We see Him at once as the
Son of God (fully God) with heavenly authority and the Son of Man (fully Man) with earthly authority
(Psalm 2:6-8). Jesus is the King of the Jews ruling as the first-born resurrected Man in heaven at the
right hand of the Father and soon returning to earth to reign on the throne of David on earth (Isaiah
9:7). He as King of kings and Lord of lords will reign over the nations (Revelation 1:5; 2:26,27) as he
presides over the times of the restoration of all things (Acts 3:21) and joins heaven to earth as it was
in the beginning (Matthew 6:10).
